How the territory is built
Home base is DeSoto County. Southaven, Olive Branch, Hernando and Horn Lake are the daily route — four cities inside fifteen minutes of each other, with something like 150,000 people between them and a huge concentration of quarter- and half-acre subdivision lots. That density is what keeps our per-cut pricing where it is.
North across the state line, the Shelby County suburbs are a different kind of market: Collierville and Germantown carry the highest household incomes in the metro, Bartlett and Cordova bring volume, Arlington and Lakeland bring large newer lots. East Memphis rounds it out. East into Marshall County, Holly Springs is a small market with almost no competition.
Pricing barely moves across the territory. Cities further from the DeSoto core carry a few percent for drive time and larger average lots, and we say so plainly on each page rather than quietly padding a quote.

One climate, one set of problems
The whole territory is zone 7b
DeSoto County, Memphis and everything between sit in USDA hardiness zone 7b, with some areas trending toward 8a under the 2023 map update. That is the transition zone, where Bermuda, zoysia, centipede and tall fescue all survive — which is why you can drive one street and see four different lawns needing four different mowing heights.
The other constant is the clay. Nearly every subdivision on both sides of the line was built on cleared clay subsoil, and MSU Extension is direct about what that means: heavy clay compacts from traffic and mowing, cutting the pore space roots need for oxygen and water, and producing shallow, weak turf. It is the single most universal lawn problem in this territory and it shapes how we schedule aeration everywhere we work.
